Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be changing the June 20, 2020 group race, but that doesn’t mean the excitement is canceled!
We are highly encouraging all R4H riders to participate in the Racing for Home ride, Solo 🤙 competition.
From June 1st – June 21st you can head over to the 45 North Vineyard Trail on your own terms, and ride the Racing for Home world-cup style course SOLO using the Strava app.
Instructions:
Step 1: Make a donation to Habitat for Humanity – Grand Traverse Region. Minimum suggested donation is $25 per adult rider and $15 for kids. Larger donations are also encouraged.
Step 2: Join the Racing for Home Strava club.
Step 3: Review the Strava segment for adults and kids to be sure you follow the correct route. The routes are listed below.
Step 4: Pick your day to head out to the 45 North Vineyard Trail and race SOLO.
The competition will be judged on the fastest single lap time. Categories will be consolidated to just two – adults and kids.
The kids course will be the lower loop through the vineyard which is 1 miles. The adult loop will be the full 3 mile course (upper + lower loop).
We will monitor all participants through the Strava club and keep everyone updated on the leader-board through email and all social media outlets.

Course Description

The course is a short 3 mile “World Cup” style loop.  Within those 3 miles cyclists will encounter a variety of terrains including everything from 100 year old farm roads, rolling grassy hills, technical and tight pine forest single track, a touch of sand, some downhill flow, bridge crossings, and nearly 300 ft of climbing per lap. Naturally, this course also features some of the best scenic views of beautiful Leelanau County.
